Artificial Intelligence is revolutionizing the healthcare Industry by effectiveness of care for patients. Read on to know more about it…

Almost every area across the Industry are impacted by the Artificial Intelligence technology. Healthcare is emerging as a prominent area for AI research and applications. Artificial Intelligence is revolutionizing the healthcare Industry by effectiveness of care for patients.

AI in Healthcare
Artificial Intelligence creates an opportunity for huge amounts of data to be fed into rules-based algorithms which provide insights to help physicians, researchers and medical technicians in making crucial decisions about patients’ health, developing new drugs and improving operational efficiency across health organizations. From life coaching to cognitive behavioral therapy to faith-based healing, AI therapy bots are cropping up on Facebook messenger. Image recognition, for instance, is revolutionizing diagnostics. Sometime back, Google DeepMind’s neural networks matched the accuracy of medical experts in diagnosing 50 sight-threatening eye diseases.

Early-stage startups are focused on using cognitive behavioral therapy changing negative thoughts and behaviors as a conversational extension of the many mood tracking and digital diary wellness apps in the market. Using AI, researchers are starting to study and measure atypical risk factors that were previously difficult to quantify. Analysis of retinal images and voice patterns using neural networks could potentially help identify risk of heart disease. High costs of mental health therapy and the appeal of round-the-clock availability is giving rise to a new era of AI-based mental health bots.

Potential Benefits
Artificial Intelligence technology is playing a huge role in the process of creative solutions for healthcare and pharma problems. Some of the potential benefits of Artificial Intelligence in cardiology are — it can help make the complex process of decision making in healthcare easier, enhance the efficiency and speed of cardiovascular imaging and also  help make the process of disease diagnoses and prediction faster & more accurate. There are quite a number of potentials in Artificial Intelligence for cardiology if adequately implemented.

The Road Ahead
Artificial Intelligence will take a huge part in the future of regenerative medicine. One of the biggest challenges for Artificial Intelligence in healthcare will be overcoming inertia to overhaul current processes that no longer work, and experimenting with emerging technologies. There have been concerns that the technology is set to replace doctors and other health workers in the in the industry. For now, though, all indications show that the technology is not aimed at replacing healthcare workers but instead to assist them in making important decisions about patients’ health. Doctors are betting on the fact that AI’s role for the foreseeable future will be to simply assist physicians in making better decisions. Currently, the focus being on AI as an assisting technology.

AI in healthcare is currently geared towards improving patient outcomes, aligning the interests of various stakeholders, and reducing healthcare costs. Over time, there may be situation that AI will definitely shorten the process of drug development for building quite a number of lifesaving treatments for complex medical conditions like ALS, Parkinson’s disease and Alzheimer’s disease all of which have no cure currently.
