In a significant development in the rapidly growing AI-driven cybersecurity market, SentinelOne has acquired two-year-old startup Prompt Security for approximately $250 million.
The deal, unveiled by Israel’s Calcalist, adds another name to the string of recent acquisitions in the sector.
Prompt Security, founded in 2023 by former Check Point and Orca Security experts Itamar Golan and Lior Drihem, had previously raised just $23 million in funding. The acquisition represents a significant and rapid return for the investors, including Israeli venture capital fund Hetz Ventures, Jump Capital. Ridge Ventures, and major technology companies Okta and F5.
Prompt’s solution focuses on securing interactions between employees and generative AI tools like ChatGPT, code assistants, and internal AI applications. The platform analyzes every prompt and response to protect sensitive data, block malicious content, and target AI-specific vulnerabilities.
The acquisition underscores the increasing pressure on cybersecurity companies to provide robust solutions against the growing threat of AI-driven attacks and data breaches via AI tools. Experts expect the wave of acquisitions to continue, as other startups in the sector, such as Lasso Security and Aim Security, are also attracting interest from buyers.
