Visionary technology leader Gopi Thangavel has joined Larsen & Toubro (L&T) as its Group Chief Information Officer (CIO).
His responsibilities include executing each aspect of IT strategy and digital transformation and aligning cyber security with the company’s business objectives with a focus on driving operational excellence. He will also play a key role in facilitating technology adoption in the enterprise.
With decades of vast experience in deploying strategic IT solutions and driving digital strategies across diverse sectors, Thangavel comes from Reliance Industries Limited where he as Senior Vice President spearheaded the successful execution of numerous large-scale projects.
With a strong business acumen, Thangavel is a veteran leader who has worked in diverse industries that include Logistics, Manufacturing, Healthcare, Retail, ITeS/BPO, ISP, and Supply Chain, at leading organisations such as Wipro, Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories and Agility.
Known for high impact leadership in new-age technologies Thangavel is expected to play a key role in shaping L&T’s digital transformation strategies.
