Microsoft has appointed Rodrigo Kede Lima as president of Microsoft Frontier Company, the company’s newly launched AI-focused business unit. The announcement was made in an official Microsoft blog post introducing Frontier Company as a new operating business designed to help enterprise customers design, deploy, and operate AI systems.
The new unit is backed by a $2.5 billion investment and is intended to accelerate Microsoft’s enterprise AI efforts. Microsoft said the organization will combine technical expertise and customer support to help companies build and run AI systems more effectively.
Kede Lima has held leadership roles at Microsoft for years and was previously president of Microsoft Asia. In naming him to the role, Microsoft positioned Frontier Company as a major part of its broader AI strategy.
The launch comes as Microsoft continues to deepen its investment in artificial intelligence across products and services. By creating a dedicated business unit, the company appears to be sharpening its focus on helping enterprises adopt AI at scale.
