Nasscom has appointed Srikanth Velamakanni, Co-founder and Group Chief Executive, Fractal Analytics Ltd., as its new Chairperson. He succeeds Sindhu Gangadharan, while Kishor Patil has been named vice chairperson.
Velamakanni takes over after serving as Nasscom vice chairperson and an Executive Council member for more than six years. Nasscom said his background in enterprise AI, analytics, responsible technology and global go-to-market will be central to the role.
Sindhu Gangadharan’s term ends in April 2026, closing a period in which Nasscom focused on scaling India’s tech sector and strengthening its global position. Rajesh Nambiar, Nasscom president, said Velamakanni brings a rare combination of entrepreneurial drive and AI depth.
The new chairperson is expected to steer Nasscom’s work around AI-led services transformation, product innovation and agentic AI. The industry body also plans to push India as a source of autonomous, multi-agent systems and vertical AI products for global markets.
Nasscom’s agenda also includes deeper IP-led innovation across AI infrastructure, semiconductors, frontier technologies and advanced engineering. Talent development will remain a priority, with a focus on preparing workers for Human+AI roles and new operating models.
Velamakanni said AI progress is creating major opportunities for enterprises of all sizes and argued that India will play a pivotal role in the AI-led transformation. He added that the coming year will focus on driving AI-powered growth across services and products while preparing the workforce to lead with AI.
