Kaspersky has announced that it has joined the Global Alliance on Artificial Intelligence for Industry and Manufacturing (AIM Global), launched by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO). This strategic collaboration reflects the company’s commitment to advancing the safe and sustainable use of AI to drive innovation and create a more sustainable world.

Introduced in 2023, AIM Global promotes the responsible development and deployment of AI and frontier technologies. Aligned with the UN Secretary-General’s Our Common Agenda initiative, AIM Global aims to foster the responsible, sustainable, and inclusive application of AI in the industrial sector by bringing together governments, international organizations, the private sector, and industry leaders who recognize the transformative potential of AI.

With extensive experience in AI and ML algorithms, using them in its solutions for almost 20 years, Kaspersky is excited to contribute to AIM Global’s mission of unlocking the full potential of AI for industry. Membership in AIM Global will help Kaspersky promote the best practices for the use of AI in industry and manufacturing by sharing the expertise the company has accumulated in its AI Technology Research Center, which focuses on AI research and AI-powered threat detection and solutions.

The AIM Global collaboration will also enable Kaspersky to raise global awareness about the conscientious use of AI with a wider public, highlighting the potential cybersecurity risks AI can bring to everyday life, from smart home devices to robotic manufacturing and business. Kaspersky has continually conducted analyses on the potential impact of AI tools on the cybersecurity landscape and has been advocating for the ethical use of AI in cybersecurity, having presented its AI ethical principles at the UN Internet Governance Forum in 2023.

These principles echo AIM Global’s Principles of Responsible use of AI in Industry — transparency and accountability, inclusiveness, collaborations and innovation, reliability and safety, and privacy and security — to which Kaspersky is also committed as a member of the alliance.

“We’re very pleased to become part of AIM Global – where world stakeholders with a common vision collaborate to harness the power of AI in a responsible manner,” said Eugene Kaspersky, founder and CEO of Kaspersky. “As part of this community, we’ll be contributing to forging strategic partnerships for the ethical and sustainable use of AI, and building a future where AI fosters positive change and innovation.”
