NTT DATA has announced it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Udupi-based Niveus Solutions, a premier cloud engineering company, specializing in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services. The acquisition accelerates NTT DATA’s strategy to expand its cloud capabilities to meet the global demand for transformative cloud solutions across industries and solidifies the company as a leading global system integrator for Google Cloud.

Once the transaction is closed, Niveus Solutions, an award-winning leader in Google Cloud services, will add 1,000 GCP engineering professionals with expertise in GCP native modernization, data engineering and AI to enhance NTT DATA’s Google Cloud Business Unit.

With deep knowledge across financial services, manufacturing, automotive, retail and logistics, Niveus Solutions supports NTT DATA’s ability to deliver specialized industry cloud platform solutions which enable rapid development of customized use cases. These added capabilities enhance NTT DATA’s ability to address complex client challenges across industries and deliver scalable, secure, industry-specific cloud solutions globally.

“The acquisition of Niveus Solutions will firmly position us as a leading Google Cloud powerhouse, propelling NTT DATA as one of the world’s largest system integrator partners for Google Cloud,” said Charlie Li, Head of Cloud and Security Services, NTT DATA, Inc. “With Niveus Solutions, we are set to redefine possibilities in the AI-driven cloud era, enabling clients to accelerate digital transformations and achieve meaningful business outcomes across industries and geographies.”

Building on NTT DATA’s expanded strategic partnership with Google Cloud

The acquisition will build on NTT DATA’s recently expanded strategic partnership with Google Cloud which is focused on co-innovating data analytics and GenAI solutions for enterprise clients. Through this alliance, NTT DATA and Google Cloud will deliver cloud-based data and AI solutions tailored for industry-specific needs. Leveraging NTT DATA’s proven industry blueprints, best practices and cloud solutions on GCP, the expanded partnership is set to deliver innovative solutions backed by proven implementation expertise.

Niveus Solutions also complements NTT DATA’s dedicated Google Cloud Business Unit, established to deliver industry solutions in data analytics, GenAI and cloud modernization services. Now enhanced with Niveus Solutions 1,000 GCP experts, NTT DATA is accelerating its ability to deliver secure, scalable industry-specific solutions on a global scale.

Niveus Solutions has demonstrated proven success with recent accolades including the 2024 Google Cloud ‘Breakthrough Partner of the Year – Asia Pacific’ and ‘India Partner of the Year.’ Building on this momentum, NTT DATA is well positioned to expand its leadership and extend these capabilities globally.

“Niveus Solutions is excited to join forces with NTT DATA. Our team’s dedication to advancing digital transformation on Google Cloud, combined with NTT DATA’s extensive reach and capabilities, strongly positions us to bring modern cloud solutions to new markets to expand the boundaries of cloud innovation,” said Suyog Shetty, CEO and co-founder of Niveus Solutions. “Today’s news accelerates our mission to harness our GCP talent pool globally, tapping into India’s thriving ecosystem of skilled professionals and enhancing our ability to deliver transformative services globally.”

“The Niveus Solutions acquisition significantly advances our Google Cloud partnership and expands our ability to meet the growing demand for AI-powered solutions that drive business growth,” said John Lombard, Chief Executive Officer, NTT DATA, APAC. “With Niveus Solutions, we’re strategically positioned to capitalize on this significant growth opportunity across APAC and beyond.”

Global impact and market leadership

The addition of Niveus Solutions will further establish NTT DATA as a top provider of Google Cloud solutions, deepening the company’s capabilities to help organizations harness the power of GCP-native modernization. According to Gartner, Inc., worldwide end-user spending on public cloud services in 2024 is forecast to total $679 billion and is projected to exceed $1 trillion in 2027.

GenAI deployments across organizations will further fuel the demand, highlighting the importance of today’s news and NTT DATA’s global expertise to support clients evolving needs for cloud modernization, AI insights and secure digital transformations.

The transaction is subject to customary closing conditions and is expected to close within the next 30-60 days.
