Netmeds hopes to integrate KiViHealth’s capabilities with itself by the end of this year, and is also looking to hire over 250 people in the next 18 months.

E-pharmacy Netmeds.com has acqui-hired the staff of health tech startup KiViHealth in a cash-and-stock deal, paving the way for its employees to join Netmeds.

Founded in 2015 by Indian School of Business (ISB) alumni Bhanu Mahajan and Rajandeep Singh, KiViHealth is a clinic management platform and digital health information system with a proprietary digital prescription tool that allows doctors to generate digital prescriptions.

The financial details of the deal remain undisclosed, but Netmeds.com founder and CEO Pradeep Dadha told TOI that Netmeds is investing close to $10 million to integrate and grow the KiViHealth business segment.

“Both doctors and consumers are critical to the healthcare value chain, and with this acquisition, we are getting closer to the healthcare service providers, and creating digital touch points in the ecosystem,” Dadha said. “The platform not only creates a digital patient health record repository with the digital prescription pad, but also powers day-to-day operations such as appointment booking, invoicing and medicine inventory management,” he added.

The Chennai-based Netmeds, a licensed e-pharma portal enabling online purchase of prescription medications, hopes to integrate KiViHealth’s capabilities with itself by the end of this year, and is also looking to hire over 250 people in the next 18 months.

The Ahmedabad-based KiViHealthcounts over 3,100 hospitals and health centres in its network, and manages over two million patient records, and serves more than 2,000 doctors through its web and app platforms.
