Showcases testing solutions at International Wireless Communications Expo 2019

Viavi Solutions announced enhanced capabilities for two testing solutions in its communications radio test portfolio (formerly Aeroflex). These feature enhancements include full automation and Auto-Test functionality for Kenwood NX-3000 portable and mobile radios on the 3920B Radio Test Platform, eliminating the need for user interaction. In addition, automated test and alignment capabilities supporting Harris XL-185 Series radios have been added to the 3920B Radio Test Platform and the 8800SX Digital Radio Test Set. These enhancements are designed to reduce downtime of mission critical platforms and increase operational efficiency.

“Built on a proven track record for speed and accuracy, VIAVI radio test platforms provide repeatable and highly accurate test and alignment to industry and manufacturer standards, ensuring proper interoperability and performance for critical communications when it matters most,” said Edward Latimer, Product Line Manager of Radio Test Sets for VIAVI. “VIAVI is committed to providing innovative testing solutions for the public safety community. With the latest enhancements to the 3920B and the 8800SX test platforms, radio users are able to perform fast, repeatable, and accurate test functions with minimal technical interaction.”

With a long heritage of test and measurement, the VIAVI 3920B Radio Test Platform provides repeatable and highly accurate test and alignment to manufacturer-recommended specifications and industry standards. The addition of automated test and alignment capabilities for Kenwood NX-3000 portable and mobile radios and Harris XL-185 Series radios helps to ensure proper interoperability and a uniform standard of performance when testing these radio networks.

Likewise, the VIAVI 8800SX Digital Radio Test Set has been enhanced to support automated testing of next-generation Harris XL-185 Series radios, enabling test professionals to set up analog and digital meters and test functions in the lab or the field. Designed for maximum test efficiency, the VIAVI 8800SX offers the industry’s largest color touch-screen display, a unique “fast-stack” user interface, user-defined presets, and customer frequency lists.

VIAVI offers a broad selection of integrated, portable testing equipment and solutions for critical communication radio users across a variety of industries, including public safety, homeland security, military and paramilitary, private security, utilities, railroads, public transportation, and hospitals. Radio test equipment from VIAVI supports all major land mobile and professional mobile digital radio communication protocols, including TIA-603 Standard, TIA-102 APCO P25 Standards, ETSI TETRA Standard, ETSI DMR, ETSI dPMR, NXDN™, and Positive Train Control (PTC).
